Fall Shipping of Alpine and Rock Garden Plants
“I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Hi All,
It pains me to be in front of a computer at all on a beautiful fall day such as this, but I thought I better get an update out despite the weather. We had a wonderful time at the Hardy Plant Society Plant Fest Sale. It was the definition of a perfect fall day, a crisp chill in the air making that morning cup of coffee hit a bit smoother. Follow that with a spray of warm afternoon sunshine and a light breeze to rattle the now vitreous, gold and amber hued leaves. Couldn’t ask for better weather for a plant sale!
For our friends from afar, I will be working on the inventory for fall shipping in the next day or two. The online shop will be down for a bit while I get that updated. I know it’s a bit late for some of you in the harsher climate zones, so I’m hoping you make your best judgement on ordering for your climate. If it’s online I will be shipping it and I plan to continue shipping until the fall plant selection is out or the weather turns super nasty. On this years fall list you will find tons of great compact and dwarf selections for the crevice garden, rock garden and troughs, as well as a few perennials from our drought tolerant selections, including but not limited to: Phlox, Erysimum, Penstemon, Androsace, Draba, Cerastium Helychrisum, Arenaria, Salvia, Edraianthus, Dracocephalum, Bornuelllera, Silene, Gypsophila, Lobelia, Clematis, Calceolaria, Gentiana, Raoulia, Ceanothus, Pulsatilla, Hebe, Iris, Allium, Lilium, Petrophytum, Parahabe etc. etc.
Check out out the gallery to see one of our special releases this fall, from the 2023 Alaskan expedition to the Chugach and White Mountains, Silene acaulis ‘Eagle Summit’ is a lovely, dark green, vigorous cushion former, with large pink petals and darker corolla’s. It’s proven to be tough through our hot, dry summers with no die back, just tight emerald green domes!
Check back for the fall plants shipping availability in the next few days, some things are in very short supply so get your order in quickly!
Cheers to the cooler weather of Autumn! Sunny days on tap with cool evening temperatures now, lows in the 40’s the last couple of nights feel so good after the heat of summer has finally broken.
