Colchicum hungaricum 'Valentine' |

The bees were flying good on Monday and I got some action shots of them hitting the Colchicum hungaricum 'Valentine' which seems unusually sweet scented this year. |

I discovered this fellow's blog some time ago as he is active on the Pacific Bulb Societies email list: http://www.amateuranthecologist.com/p/about.html
Please check out his stuff, it's really good and I'm jealous of his unbridled passion and boundless energy, reminds me of myself about 15 years ago.
The rock garden project is starting to look like something finally, it's smaller then I hoped but it's a start. I hesitated to even put any photo's up on the blog at this point, because it looks something like a pile of rocks. Then I remembered that this is my garden journal, and to show where I end up, I should show how I came to be there. I'll post more as the progress continues, but the first kidney shaped bed is close to getting some of the structural shrubs and smaller rocks placed soon.
It's been in the 60's this past week with some drizzle mixed with sunshine here and there. Forecast says the mild weather continues, so I hope to be more frequent with posting on here.
Cheers,
Mark
