Bulbs are shipping and Summer isn’t ending
Well, the thermometer says it’s very much still summer as we go into the last weekend of it. As families are packing coolers and tents and headed to the coast to beat the valley heat for one last camping trip before the school year starts, we are busy packing bulbs!
I have three students from the Chemeketa Community College horticulture program working here interning and processing orders and they are doing a great job getting orders packed and out the door despite the heat. We have a ways to go to get all the orders out, so hang tight and you will get a notification and tracking number when your order is shipping out.
This summer has been non stop heat and it’s not letting up at all, we have been in the high 90’s going into the labor day weekend and it looks like more heat is on the way. I’m looking forward to the cool of fall and for the mostly summer dormant plants to start growing again!
I had an awesome late season backpacking trip into the Wallowa mountains, climbing Oregon’s 8th highest mountain peak with my daughter and a friend. Lot’s of great wildflowers in seed so look for some fun stuff from the Alps of Oregon coming in a future plant offering!
Also had a fantastic trip to the East Coast to visit a few NARGS chapters to meet some wonderful people, see some mind blowing gardens and share some knowledge. I will update on both of these fantastic trips in a future blog post but way too busy catching up on orders right now to write much.
Thank you all for your continued support! You aren’t just supporting a small business, you are helping the next generation of horticulture students get a start with careers in the industry and enriching your garden in the meanwhile!
Hope your end of summer is cooler than here in the valley! Temps touching triple digits as we go into the labor day weekend.
Cheers,
Mark
