Illahe Open Gardens and Plant Sale
Saturday May 18th, 10am-4pm, Save the date for our best sale of the year! The open gardens and plant sale will feature our best selection and deals on alpines, rock garden plants and drought tolerant, tough perennials for the summer show! We have a fun scavenger hunt activity planned for this day so bring your friends and family and make a day of it. We partnered with some of our favorite local businesses and participants of the scavenger hunt will get to find free plants, receive discounts on wine at our favorite winery, enjoy some the best wood fired pizza in the valley, take a ferry ride across the Willamette to the quaintest flower shop you’ll ever see, check out the historical town of Independence and the rolling hills and beautiful valley bottom country that is Buena Vista. Plan to spend the day exploring our wonderful ‘Illahe’ and support some local business and have an adventure! Complete all the stops on the scavenger hunt and you will receive a discount on your plant purchases at Illahe Rare Plants. Check your email for more details coming next week.
Some other announcements:
Thursday May 9th, 7:00pm I will have plants for sale at the NARGS meeting at the Bellevue Botanical Garden and give a talk on growing rock garden and alpine plants with tips and tricks to grow the tough ones! If you are in the Puget Sound area you will want to be there!
The week of May 13th I will update the online availability for shipping, so look for many new treasures to show up as well as restocking of many great plants for rock gardens, troughs, and crevice gardens.
Hope to see you all soon!
Mark
P.S.
The weather was just nuts this week, 3” of rain over the weekend, and last night we had a frost warning, although it only got down to 34 deg. F thankfully for the veggie starts in the garden, and now the weatherman says it’s going to be close to 90 this coming weekend! Oy Vey, you gotta be adaptable, just like our plants for this craziness.
