Spring Flowers and Catalog Update!

Fritillaria lusitanica

The electricity bill (our primary source of heat here at Illahe) glared a painful reminder that this February was 10 degrees colder than last year on the average and last year gave us a cold wet spring.

But spring is knocking on the door now and this past weekend the sun was shining and the temperatures hit the low 60’s and in March in Oregon 60 degrees feels like shorts and T-shirt weather!

The flowers have responded well to the warmth and the Fritillaria collection, that is a bit late this year is now really starting to get going.

The Spring Catalog is coming soon! The Spring offering of Rock Garden, Crevice Plants, Alpines and Rare Bulbs should be out the end of March. This will be a short window offering with plants shipping on Thursdays and Fridays through April. Specialty items are always in short supply so you will want to get your order in quickly. This mailorder offering will feature plants and bulbs available in Anderson Rose Pots and 4” Shuttle pots, both sizes are perfect for planting in crevice gardens and rock gardens. Some genera to look forward to: Androsace, Draba, Dactylorhiza, Frtillaria, Crocus, Campanula, Centaurea, Mimulus, Helichrysum, Rhodanthemum, Colchcium, Sedum, Iris, and so much more!

A selection of rock garden and crevice garden plants along with potted bulbs will be available in the spring catalog in Rose Pots and 4” shuttle Pots. Perfect sizes for establishing in the garden!

Stay Tuned!
