The Truth About AI!
I asked Artificial Intelligence to write a crafty catch line for the open garden and plant sale next weekend, and that is what it came up with. It’s been all over the news lately, so I guess it makes sense. If you aren’t sitting at home contemplating the impending doom of humanity by the onslaught of artificial intelligence then you should be vising illahe next weekend for the Open Garden and Plant Sale!
Albert Einstein once wrote: “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change”. We have all seen the changes coming, from the more frequent ice storms of winter here, to the now all to common heat waves of spring and the oppressive heat of summer, the climate is definitely changing in our little neck of the woods. If intelligence is the ability to change we should be adapting our gardens to it. If machines are going to take over the world, then I for one want to be enjoying a well tended garden when the autobots come for us all. Click on the gallery for just a few of the fun things blooming around the garden.
Besides a few private events for the NPSO and NARGS, this is the first open garden and plant sale I’ve had on site in close to 15 years. It’s a long journey of pursuing a dream, while juggling father hood as a single parent, working full time in natural resources for local government and coming home to tend a flower bulb nursery as a sundowner operation and waiting until the timing was right to give it the nursery business a more dedicated go. Well, if the pundits are right and the AI is going to wipe out horticulture as a profession, then there is no time like the present to be living the dream. Come and visit the nursery and find some great plants to add to your garden while we all wait out the inevitable.
P.S. I don’t think humans have come anywhere close to mastering intelligence yet, so probably not a good idea to hand over what little we have figured out to the binary world. “Runaway train……..coming down the tracks, runaway train, never coming back.”
