The San Clemente Island Brodiaea is endemic to the Channel Islands, a place that is high on my bucket list. I’ve always wanted to go and see the wildflowers and go fishing for Garibaldi and Sheepshead. Someday maybe. In the mean time I get to grow this lovely little wildflower that should be any ones xeriscape or rockery. It’s a bit of a rarity since all of the worlds population grow on one clay mesa on one Island in the archipelago. In the garden it’s an easy naturalizer. Photos courtesy of Mary Sue Ittner
