Iris sp. #4
Number 9, number 9, number 9, er…..I mean number 4, number 4, number 4. Sorry, it’s not the start to the beatles revolution dischord. It’s the name I got this one under. It’s source was Kathy Allen, the famous Southern Oregon rock gardener, who propagated so many wonderful plants for her epic annual spring sales every year. She recently retired and I’m lucky to have gotten so many of her treasures to propagate the last few years. This is one of them. It’s a dwarf, bearded, with the most magnificent light yellow blooms with a hint of blue on that little beard. It’s wonderful in the rock garden where it tops out at 18”, I have it set to show off above the shimmering blue Gentiana acaulis. Light yellow matches with almost anything in the garden so you can’t go wrong!
If anyone knows the species please let me know? I have so little time for taxonomy these days,
Shipped bareroot, sorry can’t ship international with these iris.
