Native to the central and western Pyrenees of northern Spain, Petrocoptis pyrenaica is a compact, perennial alpine plant belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family. It thrives in rocky crevices, limestone cliffs, and well-drained scree slopes at high altitudes. The plant features delicate pink to pale lilac flowers and narrow, grey-green foliage.

Cultivation:
Best suited to rock gardens, troughs, or alpine beds, it prefers full sun to partial shade and sharply-drained, alkaline soils. Ensure protection from winter wet; excellent drainage is essential. Hardy but benefits from a sheltered position in colder climates.
