Sedum lineare 'variegatum'
Sedum lineare 'Variegatum' is a charming and resilient ground cover plant known for its attractive variegated foliage. The leaves are linear, fleshy, and adorned with creamy white edges that beautifully contrast the green centers. This low-growing succulent forms dense mats, making it ideal for rock gardens, borders, and container arrangements. In summer, it produces clusters of small, star-shaped, yellow flowers that add a cheerful touch to its lush foliage.
This plant is native to East Asia, particularly in regions of China and Japan, where it thrives in rocky and mountainous environments. While I’m not the biggest fan of variegation, it sometimes just make plants look sickly to me, this one has a nice dayglow effect.
Sedum lineare 'Variegatum' prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is highly drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering once established. Perfect for xeriscaping, it can also withstand poor soil conditions and light foot traffic. Hardy in USDA zones 6-9, this sedum is a low-maintenance choice for adding texture and color to your garden year-round.
