Said to be a naturally-occurring hybrid rain lily was discovered by the famed Yucca Do Nursery in the 1990’s at 4,000' in Tamaulipas, Mexico. It’s proven to be very hard, and tough bloomer here at illahe. I grow it in the border with summer Ageratum and Heliotrope as a nod to Lord and Schryver, two famous Salem landscape architects who incorporated rain lilies and helitrope into yellow flowered rose parterres for a stunning combination. Whether you use it in a formal garden or in a natural xeriscape this is a fantastic bulb for the new heat and drought we are facing.
