Calceolaria umbellata
A charming, compact perennial with distinctive pouch yellow flowers held in loose umbels above rosettes of soft, green foliage. Native to the southern Andes of Chile and Argentina, it thrives in cool, moist environments.
Ideal for alpine beds, troughs, or shaded rock gardens where its unique blooms can be admired up close. Best in climates with cool summers. I do find in our hot, dry western summers these do best with afternoon shade.
