Daphne x schlyteri 'Gold Edge'
This cultivar is a compact, low-growing shrub with dark green leaves edged in gold. It was a Rick Lupp selection from a cross of D. cneorum and D. arbuscula that Joy creek nursery spread around. I’m sad to say that both of those nurseries are not longer around, leaving huge shoes to fill. I’m glad to be keeping this legacy of growing alpines alive.
In spring, it produces fragrant rose-pink flowers.
It's suitable for USDA Zones 5 through 9 and thrives in sun to part shade, with a well drained soil.
