Daphne jasminea
The queens of the rock garden, this species from Greece, has wonderful jasmine like flowers all summer, over glaucus blue foliage and a descending shrubby habit that makes it perfect for spilling down the side of a trough, or running down a crevice in the rock garden. Tough and dependable, it will quit blooming only when subjected to extreme drought which it tends to take like a champ only to pop back into bloom as soon as it gets a bit of moisture. Like all rock daphnes, good draining soil is important.
