Erysimum cv drenowskii (pumilum)
Dwarf Wallflower. Name confusion, I got this from seed as Erysimum cv. drenowskyii, but it’s a very compact cushion former that to me with limited botanical resources for id looks more like E. pumilum. Whatever the name it is a standout, super fragrant, early blooming, hardy and tough wallflower of the tiniest proportions perfect for the rock garden or crevice garden. Here is some info on the E. pumilum I suspect it is.
Originating from the rocky slopes and cliffs of Europe, this resilient perennial adds a burst of color and charm to any garden setting. With its compact size and vibrant blooms, Erysimum pumilum is a perfect choice for rock gardens, borders, or containers. Its clusters of fragrant, yellow-orange flowers bloom profusely from late spring to early summer, attracting bees and butterflies to your garden oasis. Not only does Erysimum pumilum thrive in well-drained, sunny locations, but it also boasts excellent drought tolerance, making it an ideal choice for low-maintenance landscapes.
Native to mountainous regions of Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy, Erysimum pumilum is well-adapted to Mediterranean climates but can also thrive in various temperate zones. Its ability to withstand harsh conditions and rocky terrain makes it a popular choice for gardeners seeking resilient and beautiful plants. Whether nestled among rocks or cascading over edges, Erysimum pumilum adds a touch of elegance and vibrancy to any garden space, while its easy-care nature ensures enjoyment for years to come.
