A striking, spiny evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region, particularly Sardinia and Corsica. Genista horrida thrives in full sun and well-drained, poor soils, making it ideal for xeriscaping and coastal gardens. It forms dense, thorny thickets with small yellow pea-like flowers in spring.

As with all things spiky proceed with caution, it’s low growing and dense with a name like horrida there is a barefoot accident waiting to happen! Cactus fans will like this one.
