Digitalis obscura
The willow leaved or Rusty foxglove is a super cool compact perennial for the rock garden or sunny border. Originating from the rugged landscapes from Spain to Morrocco, Digitalis obscura thrives in rocky habitats, where it basks in the sun's warm embrace. Its slender stems rise gracefully, adorned with clusters of enchanting tubular flowers in hues reminiscent of a vibrant sunset. Picture dusky oranges merging into velvety purples, each petal a canvas painted by nature's skilled hand.
A botanical marvel that epitomizes the mystique of the natural world. This captivating species, commonly known as the "Sunset Foxglove," boasts a unique blend of rustic charm and delicate beauty, making it an exquisite addition to any rock garden.
Plenty hardy in my Zone 7 in most years, this past one it didn’t like the sheets of ice and freezing rain, so best to protect it in extreme climate situations.
